DAVE MUSTAINE 'Taking A Sabbatical' From Programming 'Megadeth Radio'
April 21, 2010MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has revealed in his latest TheLiveLine "audioblog" that he is "taking a sabbatical" from programming MEGADETH's "predictably unpredictable" Artist Personal Experience radio station, "Megadeth Radio", which officially launched in October 2009. Mustaine has complete creative control in the programming of his 24-hour channel, which features interviews, news, personal commentary, and playlists of his favorite music. Between the musical selections, Mustaine can be heard talking about a variety of topics, including his band's influences, the subject matter for their songs, and his soon-to-open San Diego guitar/music school, where he plans to teach underprivileged youths.
Stated Mustaine: "I just wanted to thank everybody that's helped me with Megadeth Radio up to this point.
"I'm going to be taking a sabbatical from programming the station.
"We've got some serious problems we need to work out.
"The playlist is probably going to stay like it is for a while and hopefully we'll get these things sorted out, but if not, it's been a really great run and I really want to thank everyone at Megadeth Radio for helping me have a pretty fun time doing this."

About TheLiveLine: In the spring of 2008, Dave Mustaine and friend Scott Holmen approached the founders and president of SmartReply, Inc. with Dave's concept of using their technology to engage fans and artists. This innovative platform would serve as a way for fans to let the artists know what they are up to and for artists to keep fans informed of what is going on in their world.
In the summer of 2008 a Beta version of TheLiveLine.com was released and it was a smashing success. Fans and artists engaged in communication via mobile phone (voice and text messaging) and the TheLiveLine web site, which gave them exactly what they were looking for — up-to-the-minute information from each other.
